Gather information about how the story is constructed, how the meat is

Put on the bones, or stays on the bones—the structure.

Compare ideas about authorship and content by comparing two literary

Works from the same genre. For example, a play by

Gather materials about the era in which the object was made, about the

Society for whom it was made/

Gather materials about the style of the object. How does the object relate

To others which resemble it. Does it refer to the past, the present, or the future, or to all three? What does the object say about the concerns of the

Age when it was made?

Find out how the object is treated by people who have written about it in

Points of criticism?

Language – 言語―日本語と英語を中心に

Choose an artistic work in translation, one in Japanese from English, and one in English from Japanese.

Compare the way in which speech (dialogue) is translated.

What is the market for the works you have chosen? Who is the translator?

Why has the work been translated?

Compare and contrast the content. What about literal versus literary

              Translation?
